Cookies & local storage

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and there is no analytics service watching your visit. The only thing stored in your browser is a small note remembering whether you accepted or declined the cookie banner, so it doesn't show again — nothing is sent anywhere by that note.

What information we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us, through these forms:

• Newsletter signup — your email address, so we can send the newsletter you signed up for.
• Free ebook request — your email address (and name, if you give it), used only to make the download available to you.
• Contact form — your name, email address, and message, so we can reply to you.

We also automatically note the IP address of form submissions, purely to prevent spam and abuse (rate-limiting). It is not used to identify or track individual visitors.

What we don't do

We never sell, rent, or share your email address or any other personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is not used for advertising, and it is not passed to ad networks, data brokers, or analytics companies.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter and contact data for as long as you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time — see below.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter)
• Object to or restrict how your data is processed
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, just email hello@securityemma.com — we'll respond within a reasonable time and at the latest within 30 days.

Data storage

Form data is stored securely in a database associated with this website. Passwords for the site's admin area are stored using industry-standard hashing (bcrypt) and are never stored in plain text.

Changes to this page

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly.
